CAN PREGNANT WOMEN FLY WITH BLUE BIRD AIRWAYS?

Expected mothers can travel with us up to the last day of the 26th week of pregnancy (25th week for a multiple pregnancy). Once the pregnancy reaches its 27th week (26th week for a multiple pregnancy)‚ a 'fit to fly' confirmation letter from a doctor is required.

Expected mothers who are entering or are beyond their 32nd week of pregnancy (31st for a multiple pregnancy) are not permitted to fly with us.

Please make sure your pregnancy week on your flight back also fit the limitations above.

WHAT IS A 'FIT TO FLY' LETTER?

Once a woman is entering its 26th week of pregnancy (25th week for a multiple pregnancy)‚ she is required to carry out and to present‚ before boarding‚ a medical approval from a doctor‚ which:

  • Is written in English
  • Includes the passenger's name in English
  • Was issued no later than 5 days before the departing flight
  • Indicates the number of weeks pregnant‚ the pregnancy type (single/multiple)
  • Includes the doctor confirmation that the expected mom is "fit to fly" or "has no problem to fly" on the flight date (including the return flight). 

 

ARE THERE ANY OTHER LIMITATIONS FOR EXPECTED MOTHERS ON OUR FLIGHTS?

Please note that expected mother Must not be seated in emergency exit rows.

In addition‚ expected mothers are (i) not allowed to carry an infant and (ii) are not allowed to carry Musical Instruments needing extra seat‚ when travelling alone.

 





 

Caution Note: Expectant mother beyond the 32nd week of pregnancy is not be permitted to fly un­der any circumstances so due care should be taken when booking the flight ticket
