CAN I TAKE MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS WITH ME ON BOARD?
Passengers who fly with musical instrument‚ which weights up to 8Kg (including the case)‚ and its dimensions are not higher than 23X40X51cm (including wheels and handles)‚ are allowed to take the musical instrument with them on board.
The musical instrument must be stored in the overhead bin. Please note that musical instrument in cabin replaced the free carry-on baggage allowance.
Please note that due to the limited capacity of the overhead bins‚ your carry-on musical instrument might be sent to the aircraft hold and therefore we strongly recommended packing your equipment in a way that best protects it from potential damage.
WHAT IF MY MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS WEIGHTS MORE THAN 8 KG?
If the instrument exceeds the free cabin allowance (size 23X40X51cm and weight up to 8 Kg‚ e.g. cello)‚ you can either:
Please note that the maximum dimensions that can be accepted (together with the encasing of the instrument) are: (i) from Cabin floor: 150 cm height X 22 cm length X 42 cm width (ii) from Seat: 110 cm height X 60 cm length X 42 cm width. Maximum weight is 30 Kg.
Please note that the musical instrument must be packed in a secured hard case. Should the musical instrument and baggage combined exceed the free allowance per person‚ the applicable excess baggage fees will apply.
In case your musical instrument requires a seat or is checked exceed the free allowance‚ you must provide at least 7 days prior notice (download the Musical Instruments Check List form) before the travel date at bookings@BlueBirdair.com‚ in order to pre-book it and provide further information about the equipment and its dimensions.
If passengers fail to pre-book‚ Blue Bird Airways reserves the right to refuse to carry the instrument during check in with no legal or financial liability towards them.
A checked musical instrument should be accompanied by an additional travel insurance and will only be accepted with a limited release tag (to be signed at check-in)‚ releasing Blue Bird Airways of any liability.
